Emergency AC and heating repair in Los Angeles

No cooling with someone at risk in the heat, or a furnace that quits on a cold night.

  • Same day on calls before 2pm
  • Replacement quotes are free
  • One year on parts and labor

When you call at night

Tell whoever picks up who is at home and what the AC or heater is doing, and they tell you when to expect us. The visit runs the same way at night as by day: the tests first, then the price in writing before any work.

Say where the equipment is, too. A unit on a flat roof or deep in an attic needs the right ladder, and we bring it.

Call now if

  • The cooling is out and someone at home is at risk in the heat, such as a baby or an older parent
  • The furnace has quit and the night is cold
  • A breaker trips again after a reset
  • You smell burning from the unit or the vents

When someone is at risk in the heat, say so on the call.

The repair visit

Visit fee
$89
We find the fault and write it down. The $89 comes off the bill if we do the repair.
Arrival window
2 hours
Sent by text, then a second text when your technician is on the way.
Warranty
1 year
Parts and labor on every repair and installation.

Nights and weekends cost the same as a Tuesday morning.

What can wait until morning

If it only blows warm air and nobody at home is at risk from the heat, switch it off and take the first window tomorrow. Or send the form. We text back within 15 minutes, 7am to 9pm, with a 2-hour window.

If the lines are iced or there is water by the indoor unit, turn the cooling off at the thermostat. Let the ice melt, because running it frozen strains the compressor.

How a night visit goes

  1. You call (310) 857-2520. A person asks what the AC or heater is doing and who is at home.
  2. Your technician tests the system and writes the readings down, as on a daytime visit.
  3. You get the record and the repair price in writing. Nothing starts until you say yes.
  4. Most repairs finish on the spot from parts on the truck. When one needs ordering, the record says which part and why.

For what each symptom usually means, the AC repair page covers cooling and the heating page covers furnaces.

Questions about emergency repair

Do you charge more at night?

No. A visit at 2am on a Sunday costs the same as one at 10am on a Tuesday, and so does the repair.

Is a dead AC an emergency?

It is when someone at home is at risk from the heat. For everyone else, on a mild night, it can usually wait for the first window in the morning.

Can I send the form at night instead of calling?

Yes, but the text back comes after 7am. If it can't wait until then, call.

Should I keep resetting the breaker?

No. A breaker that trips again after a reset has tripped for a reason. Leave it off and call.

The furnace smells of burning. What do I do?

A dusty smell for a few minutes, the first time it runs in months, is common. A burning smell that stays, or smells of hot wiring, is a reason to switch the heat off and call now.
